THE MYSTERY OF CROP CIRCLES

The arrival of crop circles is a worldwide phenomenon. Over the last thirty years several thousand have been reported from all over the world, including Russia, Israel and Egypt. Designs are found in many types of crops, including maize and even tree plantations. There are also examples of snow and ice circles, where the ice has melted to create a circle that turns on itself for weeks, whether it is on a pond, a river or a lake. Over six thousand designs have been recorded in England since 1980 and many of the plants and the soil have been analysed, showing a change in the cellular structure of the plants and in the composition of the soil. In tonight's talk, Francine Blake will give a review of the phenomenon, show the effects of the energy on the plants and the soil and touch on the progression of the phenomenon. She will illustrate her talk with photos of some of the most impressive crop circle designs of past years as well as recent ones from the 2010 season.

Francine Blake has studied the crop circles since 1989. She moved to Wiltshire in 1992, founded the Wiltshire Crop Circle Study Group in 1995 and has edited the group's magazine, as well as hosting a conference on the subject every year since then.
